 "Well Dr. Jones Would you come to the stand
Won´t you step right up this way?
Lighting up this case, is there something that you wanna say?"
"Well yes this man has been hurt"
the doctor said while poiting my way.

"You see this victim had a blow
for this case he´s frankly too weak!"
I was anxious to know
but had tp go´n take a leak
when my o´l lady took the stand
and her attorney told her kindly to speak

She said it was emotion
that passion excuses the crime
She said she got the notion
" cause I never really had any time
for my buttercup like I used to
when things were alright"

Looking straight at me, she told the judge
that I´d been running around
I knew she was right
so I was looking at mt feet on the ground
"Well That´s how it goes" the judge smiled
"But did you have to knock him down?"

Leaving court we were walking home
hand in hand down lovers lane
Making a pledge not to hurt each other again
When walking up that lane
i saw a stranger behind the window pane
